Bans are useless kinda, they just mean who is going to be in the game or not... you can always find alternatives...

to get out of Elo hell you have to dominate every single game in which you're in and that, playing with a champ that is needed to your team. Therefore, you have to master tons of champions. Even if you dominate every game, you might not get out of elo hell immediatly... but someday, just like I did, luck will be on your side and you will get +12 win streak and then +10 win streak and get out

what you need to do is find one (maybe 2) champion you just excell very well with and pick this champion no matter what your team comp is
Im not aware what elo you currently are at, and the strategies varies a bit from where you are

take this from someone who has worked herself from 820 to 1300 with Janna 90% of the games (and yes, I even did play Janna when someone else already picked support - at low elo team comp is useless)

800-1100 (and lower I assume)
Its all about finding that champion you do very well with and then just stomp every game, its what you have to do, you need to be strong and close your eyes and ears when someone calls you a noob and all kinds of words I wont say here because you didnt go for teamcomp - be aware, a champion you can do well with both solo lane, 1v2 and in a duo lane is important because with the team members you get at that elo you really need to be prepared for anything...even better you could pick someone you can jungle with
at this elo you also need to take the leader role if no one else does, call "B" when people are overextending and really be careful not to overextend yourself..int his elo range one or two over fed carries can dominate 1v5 (can say how many times a whole team has been wrecked by that kat that got 7kills bot because they where morons) <- this is where my support fit in well, I ward and I keep people safe, if you make sure your team doesnt feed to much you might have a fair chance of winning

1100-1400
this is the most painful journey ever, you get a random mix of people that are playing their first ranked game, higher elo players that are trying to carry lower elo ones and selfproclaimed pro's...omg I hate this elo range so much
If you play a good carry you might have a chance to do this solo all the way, since people have a tendency to follow a player once they realise they might be able to carry them (I went up and down a lot with support) otther than that you need to find a good duo partner, it is a must...if you find someone so you two consist of wither support+carry or tank+carry maybe even solo lane+jungler and you two just go as there is no other people around...if you got what it takes you will be able to dig yourself out of elo hell this way

and for the love of god do not think that you do just as fine without the partner, you might do it some games...but the people you get matched with in the elo is awful....dont do it...lol...Ive learned the hard way

I hope this is helping a little

I think you might find Elo hell more enjoyable than the mid cities. The people in the 1250-1400 range snobby little kids who think they've got what it takes to be a professional because they're in the top 40% of all players. They yell at you for not having the correct team composition; this includes one tank, a jungler, an AD ranged carry, and a melee bruiser sometimes with a mage. I list six because sometimes they'll pick up jungling Amumu or Rammus which covers two bases. Anyway, I always play what I want to (Kennen) and found that more often than not five carries wins easily. Why? Because people at this stage still don't know how to pick up some resistances. They will not deviate from their core build at all despite having to blue pill every couple of minutes due to harassment.

I found this interesting article on Reddit about "Elo Hell". I personally dont believe in Elo Hell because first of all I dont think we get stuck "where we dont belong" we are stuck in that elo until we learn to play better, and of course teamates are always there to make sure you fail at that. Second of all, saying its "Hell" means your assuming it gets better, and if high ELO buddies and streams have taught me anything is that it doesnt better.

Anyways onto that article i found Razz

800-1000 - I played on a friend's account with crappy runes. Guess this wasn't my bracket as I didn't find it hard to get out of here. You need to focus on the basics in order to win - farming, harass a little and gank the other lanes. Do not be greedy. Play your main regardless of role.

1000-1200 - this one is a little more tricky. The players are far more aggressive. If your enemy is being too agressive all you need to do is farm at tower range (if you don't know how - practice, it gets easiers with time). In this bracket you definitely need a solo lane in order to make a difference mainly because if your solo laner loses his lane it's easy for him to spiral down to feeding pretty fast as he doesn't know how to bounce back. Most players are generally focused on winning their lane by any means necessary and are extremely aggressive (if you play defensive they will fall short once the team fights start because they take summ spells like clarity or exhaust+ignite when they need survivability as a carry). Eventually they will start doing stupid shit like trying to dive you. Patience is key. Be wary of traps as they are regularly setting up a 4-5 man trap in a random bush. Here you can play your main too as team comp is rarely what wins or loses games in this bracket.

1200-1450 - It starts getting more interesting. Here you start getting the standard for EU team comp - tank/tanky dps top, ap carry mid, support+ad bot and a jungler. If your mid dies once it is common that the jungler will try to assist him and get him back in the game by ganking a lot. The players start getting aware of team objectives such as dragon, buffs, baron. It is not as random as the previous brackets. Here you need to focus on destroying your lane as much as you can. You had to play defensive in the earlier brackets. However here the players are being more cautious and you need to go exactly the opposite direction. The games have a somewhat standard development and once you play 4-5 games you will start getting the hang of it. Buy a ward or two as ganks here are much common. If the whole enemy team is mia and you are overextended - RUN. Don't lasthit that final minion/tower - just run.

1450-1650 - Now we're getting serious. Wards, wards everywhere. If you are duo lane you need to have warded the river around lvl 4 (earlier ganks are unlikely but do happen) and lvl 5 1/2-6 for a solo. However the game is much more predictable here. Once you get the pace of it you can exploit that. You've made it this far by obeying the general rules - win your lane. Now you need to start screwing your enemy as hard as you can - counterjungling, counterganking, split pushing, taking every single advantage you can. For example if your enemy is mia and he pops up in another lane you need to push as hard you can asap in order to deny him/her as much exp and gold as you can. Try to steal buffs whenever you can, but do that only if it is safe (if you have summoner's up, good escape mechanism in case they surprise you or if you have good team presence close by). Lane pressure is very important here and the importance of jungle objectives rises even more. If you are ahead - force dragon fight, if you are behind - try to fight once all your lanes are pushing. If the lanes are pushing someone will have to go back to defend and you will be able to fight with an advantage in numbers. Here you might need to carry pretty hard and the game is almost never lost (I'm saying this after carrying hard with MF vs a pretty fed akali - by the time xin, alistar and akali jumped me all together the rest of my team have already caught up in the game and were able to turn it around).
